"I do not believe that civilization will be wiped out in a war fought with the atomic bomb. Perhaps two-thirds of the people of the earth will be killed" - Albert Einstein
During World War II, the Atomic Bomb was used in battles for the first time. The bomb caused massive destruction that was both devastating yet and amazing scientific advancement in warfare. The bomb put powers in awe, and some still cannot replicate the strange anatomy of the Atomic Bomb.
Many people do not know that there were two atomic bombs, “Little Boy” and “Fat Man”. “Little Boy” was dropped on Hiroshima in August 1945. “Little Boy” generated enough energy when it exploded to fill a fifteen tons of TNT explosion. When this happened the explosion caused very high air pressure, this causing a strong blast. Some of the energy also generated heat. The heat was so great that people’s clothes caught on fire. The roofs on people’s houses started to melt. The rest of the energy was used in the creation of radiation. Radiation poisoning killed many people. Almost all of the people that did survive the bomb died within thirty days. From August 1946 to 1952 about 60,000 people died from radiation poisoning.
